With these funds I will be able to purchase the Scholastic Junior magazine for every 6th grader in my Social Studies class. I would love to be able to purchase a yearly subscription of 120 magazines, so that each student may have and keep a copy for themselves. This magazine will help my introduce students to events taking place around the world, as well as, other cultures. Some of the students that I work with do not get the opportunity to experience traveling, getting to experience other, or other cultures outside of the one the community that they live in. I believe as a Social Studies teacher that it is vital to do my best to show them as much as possible about the world to widen their mind set.
