The Description
My students need the ELMO student response system to provide opportunities for active engagement and participation of all students in the classroom.
My Students
"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand." - Confucius
Every day, I am committed to engaging my students in active learning. Finding ways to capture a student's attention and to hold on to it can be a challenge. Incorporating the student response clickers is one way to hook them and reel them in.
Each and every one of them share the love for technology and are anxious to use a technology tool any chance that they can get. Our school is very diverse. It is a title I school and the majority of our students come from low-income households. Students always have positive words for using technology and show increased scores on projects and classroom learning when the use of technology is integrated.
Technology is a part of this generations lives on a daily basis. With STEAM-centered instruction and the goal in mind of students being college and career ready, I try to incorporate as much technology into my lessons every day. Using technology, I can motivate students and get them excited to learn.
My Project
Each student will be provided with a wireless interactive clicker to submit their own personal ideas on curriculum topics in Science. The clickers allow the class to be grouped or to interact as a whole group. Responses are immediate. The clickers will allow me to track results, provide instant feedback to students, all while providing students with an engaging and interactive discussion which incorporates visual images, questions, responses, and feedback. The interactive response system can be used for learning a wide variety of topics.
Using the interactive, student response system assures that each student has an opportunity to participate and receive immediate feedback on their learning ideas. This project will help students make learning connections in the classroom.
Having an electronic response system in my classroom will change my students learning because it will give them confidence in their knowledge of science.
When students answer questions correctly they will feel confident that they know the correct answer. Confidence will also come from the less outgoing students having their misconceptions retaught anonymously.

Back Up Plan
If I do not meet my goal, I will purchase laptops that help students learn things in real time, while learning how to become critical thinkers as they disseminate the information they find. Students will be able to access approved educational websites, while accessing curriculum that will prepare them for assessments, college and careers
