Help Build the Foundation: Miss Sharbels First Grade Classroom

The Description

Hello Everyone!

In the next few weeks I will begin teaching in my very own classroom in Lambert, Mississippi. I am so excited to FINALLY begin this journey that I have dreamed about ever since I can remember!

As exciting as this time is, one huge hurdle that students in the Mississippi Delta and other high need regions around the US face is a lack of the necessary materials that they need daily. It is extremely difficult for students to take part in activities and classwork when they do not have basic supplies.

My goal is to make sure all of my students feel cared for, loved, safe, and supported in my classroom. I will use any funds that I raise to purchase the necessary supplies to ensure my students have a classroom that is stocked full of materials and supplies.

Here is a list of some of the materials that your generous investment will help provide for my students:

  • 2 Boxes of Paper (10 Reams) - $50
  • Kleenex (18 Pack) - $36
  • 2 Boxes of Pencils (288 Count) - $32
  • Chart Paper (2 Pack) - $27
  • Sticky notes (18 pack) - $8
  • 2 Packs of Dry Erase Markers (32 Count) - $22
  • Hand Sanitizer (Pack of 2) - $20
  • Crayons (125 bulk supply) -$15
  • Colored Pencils (125 bulk supply) -$25
  • Clorox Disinfecting Wipes (3 Pack) - $12
  • Pack of Highlighters (50 Count) - $10
  • Post-it Notes (24 pack) - $9
  • Folders (75) - $40
  • Binders (24) - $50
  • Rug - $50

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase...as many of the items as I can with the funds raised.

Dear Margaret,
For about 17 years, every fall I had to buy the girls their supplies. I also would donate to their teachers.... often 3 teachers (one for each child) to help build their classroom supplies. I realized the amazing impact these wonderful women had on my girls lives and truly value that. I am so proud of you and the profession you have chosen. As I do not have small children anymore and this will be our last year in high school with sophie, I'd like to continue the tradition of supporting teachers. So this Fall we support you!! Best of Luck!!

Good luck to you! I don't know what grade you will be teaching but I have a large number of early reader books that I'm going to get rid of if you'd like them. Age appropriate 4-8 mostly.
