The Description

My students attend a historically low performing school and are in desperate need of some transformational changes in how they are educated. The majority of the students I teach are the lowest performing students at the school; they are academically at risk of dropping out. They are faced daily with the struggles of poverty, violence, and low expectations. I am looking for any contributions that can be made to our classroom. I am embarking on teaching them Computer Science this year and have overcome a lot of challenges already (to include getting a classroom set of laptops). I do not have a method of charging them yet, so I need power strips and extension chords so the laptops can be used throughout the day.

Designcord Auto Rewind Extension Cord Reel, 30-Feet Heavy Duty 14/3 AWG

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase anything I can with whatever funds I have. According to a recent article in the New York Times, a "[Miami] household in the bottom 20th income percentile earned just $10,000 a year in 2012." My students reside in that bottom 20th percentile. Out here, the poor are getting poorer and it will take hard work and innovation to fundamentally alter the trajectories of their lives.
