MinecraftEDU Pushing Higher Level Thinking

The Description
Aloha!
With these funds I will provide 30 disadvantaged students with the opportunity to have access to MinecraftEDU before and after school. Technology is a fantastic tool but as Arne Duncan says, "The best combination is great teachers working with technology to personalize the learning experience and engage students in the pursuit of the learning they need." Gamification increases interest and creates a personalized experience for all.
The majority of my students know what Minecraft is but only dream of having access to it. Many Mountain View area students do not have internet access where they live. Often these families cannot afford the cost of internet access or even a Minecraft single-user license fee.
I would like to purchase up to 30 single-user licenses to provide students with access to this individualized learning tool. I will facilitate the class before and after school hours as a structured time to deepen their understanding of common core standards. I believe this is a tool which will enable all my participating students to succeed at a higher level.

Mahalo for considering my request.

Back Up Plan
If I do not meet my goal I will purchase as many single-user licenses for MinecraftEdu that the amount raised will allow. Even a few licenses could expose children to this type of enrichment experience in my classroom as time allows.

$200 Gift From Anonymous Philanthropist

Dear Pledge Cents,
I might have missed this opportunity. If not let me tell you about an exciting addition to my MindcraftEDU club plans. I recently attended a fantastic training about how to teach people/kids to CODE. I will now be able to add this option to our school club. If we do not raise the funds to buy enough single use licences, I now can also have them complete the lessons on CODEstudio! I think we will call our new opportunity, Computer Science Club. So far $174 has been raised with a goal of $500. The additional large $200 donation would give me the ability to buy enough single use licenses to get our club going!
Thank you for this great service you provide our students.
Mahalo,
Karen Corbell
