With these funds I will fill science cabinets with different sizes of graduated cylinders and chemicals for experiments so students can measure accurately. Currently we have one graduated cylinder for every 4 students and only 1 size to choose from. The greatest impact in science comes from actually putting your hands on the equipment and trying it out, and of course measurement is a fundamental skill for science. I will order 7 sets of cylinders so each table will have their own from www.carolina.com item #721608 for a total of $320.00.

 I will supply our lab with age appropriate chemicals to get our students excited about chemical changes and the power of new substances. Right now my students have to watch me demonstrate chemical reactions or watch videos of those reactions. We will order each class (4 total) a "Bonding chemically" kit from www.carolina.com item #251204 so my students can design their own experiments for $479.80. Being able to actually design experiments and see the outcomes at their table versus a teacher demo or video creates an entirely different experience in the science lab, it is the difference between watching science and being a scientist.
