Thank you again for your generous donations.  

Since the fundraiser ended, Banks has put in a lot of hours socializing and working hard in his training.  The monies raised went into an activity account for the school.  There has been a lot of red tape, but I believe we have gotten the approval we need to start training with a trainer.  The first check will be written for $300 to the trainer.  This will include 5 sessions at different locations around town.  She will do a few sessions at school!

He is now coming to school with me 3 days a week.  I am going into 4 classrooms to work with at risk students.  Students that I had not been able to reach and students I found it difficult to develop a relationship with, are now talking and taking ownership in the training of Banks.  The students light up when they are working with Banks.  I also have so much support from my administration and Jackie and Leslie, who teach PE with me.

We are in full swing training of Banks.  He is super smart and his temperament continues to prove to be perfect for a therapy dog at Kaiser.  At 15 weeks, he knows sit, down, high five, wait, and leave it. 

Please follow Banksunleashed on instagram and I also post updates on my FB.  I ruined my Twitter account for Banks because I entered his actual birthday and he isn't old enough.  I have contacted support and I can't seem to get it fixed.  If anyone has any tips on how to get this fixed, I would love to know.

I want to thank everyone who has contributed, shared, commented, and is excited about having a therapy dog at Kaiser for the faculty, staff, and students.  

After a lot of research, talking to trainers, talking to breeders, and asking advice from my family and friends, we have decided on a puppy to start training to be a certified therapy dog.

I am attaching a picture of Banks.  He is named after the amazing Ernie Banks, from the Chicago Cubs.  We want Banks to bring the positive energy to school that Ernie Banks brought to people he came in contact with.
