The Description

Our Girls on the Run team wants to show up and show out at the 5k this spring!

We are raising money for professional running gear that will serve as our team uniforms. Please help outfit our runners for the Girls on the Run 5k!

Our team consists of 9 girls across 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. If you're not familiar with the program, Girls on the Run is like Girl Scouts... with exercise! The girls have been running together and growing as young women since October. As their coach, I've noticed that they don't all have proper exercise gear for long-distance running. I would like to raise $600 through this page to purchase matching athletic leggings and sports bras for our girls. Any leftover funds will be used for our "Day of Positivity" community service day or our team pasta party the night before the 5k.

Back Up Plan

If we do not reach our goal, we will simply purchase leggings for our girls so that we all match for the 5k event.

I am a second year Teach for America Corps Member in Dallas. My first year at WH Gaston Middle School in East Dallas was a fantastic first venture in teaching.

My my first of 8th grade students were able to have a bright, book-filled classrooms last year due to the generosity of ya'll (yep, I say ya'll now!) who helped me exceed my fundraising goal last year. Any contribution will help to make my second year even more successful!
