With these funds I will purchase admission tickets to SKYZONE for our 5^th and 6^th grade reading intervention students.

Currently we have 40 students who have entered 5th and 6th grade reading far below grade level. Specifically, 20 students who are new to our school as 5th graders came in reading and comprehending text at a kindergarten or first grade level and our 20 new 6th graders entered reading at a third grade level. As a result, these students have to work extra hard all year long in all of their content classes to be able to keep up with the rest of their peers who are working at or above grade level. 

Students were assessed during summer school in August for their instructional reading level and then reading teachers created target guided reading lessons to help meet the specific needs of the students. Students receive daily small group instruction of 4-5 students at their level and create monthly reading word and reading level goals. Currently our developing readers have already made more than 1 year worth of growth and we are hoping this Saturday SKYZONE field trip will keep them motivated to meet their end of year reading growth goals. 

With 11 months of targeted instruction these students will make 2-3 years of reading growth. What better way to celebrate their success than to spend a Saturday with their peers and teachers at SKY ZONE? SKYZONE is an indoor trampoline park featuring freestyle bouncing, dodgeball and fitness programs and we need your help purchasing admission tickets. At a minimum tickets will be $18 per student. We are hoping to raise $756 to take 40 students and 2 teachers to jump for reading success and celebrate at SKYZONE!
