With these funds I will...

Reading students need TEEN Drama books: 2 copies each of 6 different titles from the "Drama High" series to inspire them to keep reading.

Many of the girls are having a hard time finding books that they like to read. Many of the books they have in the classroom are old and not very interesting to an urban teen girl.

This "Drama High" series has many books in it. That means the girls will be reading not one book this year but six books. They have been asking about this series because it's an urban love story that they can relate to, but the school does not have any money to buy new books.

Your donations will open up a world to reading and graduation for the female students.

Each book is $5.00, and we are looking to get 10 different books for a total of $50.00.

Our books arrived

October 10, 2016

Our books have arrived and my students are already begging to read the books. Your donations have allowed us to stock our classroom library with new books. It was like xmas when the box came. The entire class gathered around to open it and were already making a list of who would read them first.

About the Creator

My name is Mrs. Devivo and I teach Reading and dance at a high poverty school. My students are grades 9-12 trying to graduate and make a difference in the world they live in. My dance team is in its 1st year and already we are ready to compete. My day job is teaching Reading. Most of my students are reading below grade level. My job is to get them ready for the state test so that they can graduate high school.
