With these funds I will purchase an iPad and an iPad case.  Last year, I had the privilege of experiencing first hand how effective iPads are in the classroom. Our school was able to allow each teacher to have 1 iPad to use in their room.  I was able to have it in a workstation where students could use it during their work cycle rotation. The iPad was so much more interactive and engaging than just a piece of paper. It kept the children's attention and allowed students to practice certain skills at their own level and pace. By using the iPad over and over to read stories and to practice math skills, they have an opportunity to really develop these skills in a fun and meaningful way. With all of this said, I would absolutely love to have another iPad for our classroom.  Another iPad would allow the students to have more opportunities to use the iPad more often.  Students need to be technology literate even if they are only 6 and 7!  These days, an iPad costs approx. $600.00 and a good sturdy case is $50.00 for a grand total of $650.00.
