We Need The Latest Must Read Books For Our Outdated Classroom Library!! Part I

The Description
With these funds I will...purchase the very latest must read books for my second grade students from the Scholastic Book Club catalogs, plus Amazon.com. We would begin by having a class survey asking the students to vote for the books that they would like to have purchased for our classroom library from the authors below. Then we would research the cost and see how many books we can purchase. Recently, I told my students the top ten ways to become a better reader with number one being read, number two being read, etc. You get the picture! As a teacher of 23 years, it is time for me to refresh our selections. I have been researching the authors/books that my age of students would like to read and some of the authors/books I would absolutely love to get are listed below:
-Any books by Robert Munsch. I have approximately 15 books from this author and my class simply can't get enough of them! Although these books are not on the Scholastic Book Club catalogs they are listed extensively on Amazon.com. http://www.amazon.com/Robert-Munsch/e/B000APX51G
-Any books by Dav Pilkey. Mr. Pilkey writes the incredibly popular "Captain Underpants" series. The books that I have are worn and torn. The students would be so excited if I could replace these. This author also writes an engaging series called "Dumb Bunnies". https://clubs-kids.scholastic.co.uk/authors/4879
-More books from the "Dairy of a Wimpy Kid" series for our class. The author Jeff Kinney knows how to weave funny inventive stories that my second graders love to read. https://clubs-kids.scholastic.co.uk/authors/201052
I teach at a vibrant high poverty fine arts school. It would be an honor to provide them with the best books out there for kids. It is a very satisfying and exciting moment when teachers hear, "Can we have time to read today?!"
Back Up Plan
If I do not meet my goal I will purchase...a smaller amount of books from each author.
