I'm about to be a first year teacher in Tulsa Public Schools at Bell Elementary with Teach for America and I could not be more excited! Unfortunately, though, setting up your classroom for the first time is a very expensive experience. Though I've been able to save some money, I want to be able to provide the most for my students in the fall with all the resources that they will need to be successful, and I need all the help I can get to do so. My students deserve the best and unfortunately the state of Oklahoma doesn't always provide sufficient funds for that to happen. I want to build up an amazing in-class library for my students to be able to choose books from as well as writing materials to build up their skills to help them get ready for state tests as well as preparing them to grow academically. I will also absolutely accept donations of books appropriate for readers between a second to sixth grade level and will give out my mailing address if you need it!
