Wooddale High School Band Travel Scholarship Fund
Verified Non-Profit
$340
$2,000 goal
The Description
With these funds I will...provide 10 Financial Assistance grants in the amount of $150 each of our students who wish to attend our annual spring trip to Atlanta, Georgia. The total cost of the trip is $325/student and these scholarships would greatly reduce the out-of-pocket expense for my band students with significant need.
The Wooddale High School Band has established a tradition of excellence and has become a source of pride for the entire Wooddale Community. Our program has yielded hundreds of thousands of dollars in college scholarships over the last 4 years. We have taken 1st or 2nd place every year in the Music in the Parks Festival. Our students look forward to this trip each and every year, and every year I regrettably have to leave some students because they cannot come up with all of the funds needed to attend. I would like to establish a scholarship fund to assist students who need a little help getting all of the funds so every student who wants to attend the trip can attend the trip and create a lifetime of memories with their fellow band members.
This trip is more than a performance trip we will be visiting the Martin Luther King Memorial, The Center for Civil and Human Rights, the , the ESPN studio, as well as the World of Coke Museum. I believe in providing a cross curricular experience no matter where we go.
Back Up Plan
If I do not meet my goal I will purchase...all monies collected will be used to provide financial assistance to students in need so they can attend the trip.
