The Description
Students at Bache-Martin love graphic novels. They love reading titles like Amulet, and Bone. They even have learned information about Paul Revere through a graphic novel. Last year when we were in 4th grade, we had the opportunity to try a Storyboard That trial. Students created content that summarized our non-fiction Native American Unit. Wouldn't it be great if we could use it all year as we travel to 5th grade together?
My students are always more engaged when they are able to create based on the content we are learning about. This is why I want to be able to implement Storyboard That in my classroom this year. With Storyboard That, my students are able to create their own storyboards based on the content we are learning about. They can either create their own storyboard to extend the learning or create one to summarize the content we have covered. This will provide my students a streamlined way to create, which is proven to be the best way to extend their learning of key concepts.
By creating storyboards my students will also have the ability to practice other critical ELA skills like narrative writing and dialogue. This cross-curricular approach engages my students in multiple subjects and topics that are critical for their success. Storyboard That provides a platform that is of professional quality and fosters creativity and presentation skills. This is where you come in. Every investment you make brings Storyboard That one step closer to my classroom.
