Building Our Blended Learning Program

The Description

When schools closed this past spring for remote learning, we have made it a priority to have enough devices for a 1:1 program. In a 1:1 device program, each student from grade PreK-grade 8 will be loaned a device for the entire academic year for both home and school use. Despite the impact from COVID-19, we can no longer share our classroom resources and have to anticipate the likelihood that if a student needs to monitor their health for an extended period of time, they should not be prevented from obtaining a quality education. Since the end of the school year this past May, we have increased our enrollment by 100% and will now need a few more devices, so that each student will have access to our class from home and in-person at school.

The funds for Building Our Blending Learning Program will be used to purchase seven more tablets for our lower elementary students (PreK-grade 2), Chrome User Management Licenses, and annual Google User Account through our school domain. This will also all us to monitor each device and apply restrictions in the effort to make our students great digital citizens.

Back Up Plan

If we do not reach our goal I will only purchase one tablet per student. However, this will not allow students to take home their assigned device. In order to monitor usage, restrict access to certain websites, and create custom homepages, we will need to purchase Chrome Licenses and Google User accounts, in addition to the device.
