The Description

This year my preschoolers are fortunate to be able to participate in a mentoring project with a fifth grade class from a neighboring school.  Younger children love to look up to older children and marvel at how smart and awesome they are.  Older children are quick to celebrate the achievements of the younger ones.  It is the goal of our mentoring project that all our students learn to interact in a real and meaningful way.  With these funds I will purchase from Amazon.com small photo albums and adhesive-backed vinyl to make personalized memory albums.  We would like to make memory albums for both the preschoolers and the fifth graders and personalize them with their names using the requested Silhouette vinyl. The requested photo albums are $4.40 each, with a need of 35.  The requested variety pack of adhesive-backed vinyl to use to personalize each of the albums is $26.86.  The preschoolers will give the completed photo albums to their fifth grade mentors as an end of the year graduation gift.  The preschoolers will have their own photo album as a keepsake and to share with their families.

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase as much as these supplies as I'm able to.  My partner teacher and I believe very strongly in the potential benefits of this mentoring project we have developed, and want to be able to share the memories with as many people as possible through photos of our activities.

About the Creator

I have been involved in preschool education for most of my adult life, both in the public and private sectors. This is my second year at the Southwest Early Childhood Education Center, a Title 1 preschool within our public school system. I am fortunate to get to spend my day with an energetic and inquisitive group of four year olds. For most, this is their first school experience and they can't wait to learn!
