work to build independence in my students. The Lakeshore Learning booklets in this project are filled with fiction stories, nonfiction passages and kid-friendly poems. The journal helps students develop reading comprehension skills every day of the school year! The journal features an engaging reading passage for each school week and daily comprehension activities that students complete on their own. The students will also have daily practice fine-tuning their grammar skills in the practice journal. The math booklet will give my students their own space to solve problems and explain their mathematical thinking with a self-checking journal that provides lots of independent practice!

My students would really feel empowered if they had these Lakeshore Learning booklets to guide their own learning. When the school year is complete they can take these booklets home and keep the learning going! We would so love your assistance completing this project. Our fine arts magnet school is located in a vibrant and diverse community. Although we are in a high poverty district, our school has been able to retain our fine arts magnet status. However, it has been a challenge to find the funding for exciting learning materials.
