Project Independence

Verified Non-Profit

$472
$300 goal

The Description
With these funds I will... purchase city bus passes for the students and fund our various field trips taken throughout the year. Many of my students come from low income families, and being able to fund their own field trips is a difficult task. These funds will help my special needs students be able to enjoy the community more frequently in order to help us achieve the ultimate goal of gaining independence. Being able to access the community plays a significant role in them gaining independence. Your funds will also go towards the purchase of uniforms for our Special Olympics team. Each month, a group of athletes compete in different sports. Currently, we are in our track and field season. Uniforms, travel costs, food, and various other expenses all need to be covered. With your help, we can assure that each student-athlete is properly equipped and getting the most out of their experience as a Special Olympic Athlete.
Back Up Plan
If I do not meet my goal I will purchase...whatever items we can afford as a class. Groceries are a must since we cook weekly.
