With these funds I will provide clothing and toiletries for everyday adolescent emergencies like “Ms. I fell in the mud" to “Ms. I started" as well as for more traumatic events like, "Ms. they stole all of our stuff" to "Ms. It all burned up". Our clothes closet stocks more than pants, panties, shirts, socks and toiletries; it stocks more time in the classroom, a mind focused on learning, and the peace that you have someone to lean on in times of trouble. Maslow’s Hierarchy illustrates that if basic needs aren't met, one is less motivated to aspire to the heights of self-actualization.  Our teachers teach a rigorous curriculum. Our clothes closet allows those who experience challenges to return to the classroom much more quickly. As a result these students have more time to learn and grow.
