With these funds I will would like to purchase 10 laptops from Dell ($342.99 each).  My students have 7 desktops, but they cannot work collaboratively around a desktop.  Having the laptops would offer me an opportunity to assign students group projects during the class period, and assure that they are working collaboratively, rather than one student completing most of the work.  Also, I would like to purchase an annual membership of Gizmo simulations, and the 10 cases ($29.99 each) from Carolina.com.  The laptops will allow the students to work collaboratively on simulations that provide inquiry skills necessary to grasp biological concepts.

My students do not perform in questions dealing with scientific inquiry.  In addition to incorporating stem activities, the laptops with the simulations from these two companies could be incorporated to help them perform better.  These students are at a title I school where funding is really stretched.  Also, I teach English Language learners who need the additional visual stimulation to help them gain a better understanding of the biological concepts discussed in class.

I would like to purchase 10 laptops from Dell ($343).  A 5 class 10 simulations from Cogent (Carolina Biological) is $949.  I have not obtained a price from Explorelearning.com to access the Gizmo simulations.
