I am currently teaching Math For College Readiness and Liberal Arts Math, two classes that prepare students to be prepared to enroll in college math courses and succeed without taking remedial math classes. With these funds I will purchase a class set of calculators for students to be able to use during class to help them succeed in math class. The type of calculators these students need are scientific calculators, more specifically, Texas Instruments TI-30X IIS 2-Line Scientific Calculators. Most of my students do not have access to calculators, and to be successful in being college ready and succeed on their ACT/SAT testing, they must understand how to use a calculator and practice using them during class.
