Hello! My name is Danielle Ansley and I am a 5th grade teacher who will be teaching a self contained class at an elementary school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As a first year teacher, new to the state of Oklahoma, I want to ensure my future students have all the resources necessary to succeed during this school year. My school is a Title I public school that serves primarily 86% African-American students from North Oklahoma City, 99.5% of whom receive free/reduced lunch. Out of the student population, many are on average behind grade level. Students generally fall 25%-30% below the state average in standardized test scores for Math, Science, and English. This is unacceptable to me as an educator, and I want to work with students to give them a classroom environment that promotes equity, student achievement, and positive reinforcement. Through the help of PledgeCents, I hope to be able to fund the necessary tools for my class to achieve academic success.
