The Description
Every year KIPP 3D Academy takes students on the trip of a lifetime: to Atlanta by way of New Orleans, Montgomery, and Birmingham to explore the civil rights movement in person. Students will see where the Freedom Riders were momentarily stopped, walk where Dr. King walked, pay tribute at the National Memorial for Peace and Justice to the thousands lynched in the US, culminating with the MLK civil rights museum in Atlanta Georgia. Along the way we will have some fun at the beach, see the sights of New Orleans, and hang around downtown Atlanta.
In order to earn the trip students must work hard all year, pass their classes, and show care towards all other people (Students and teachers alike).Unfortunately, not every student at our school can afford to go on the 8th grade trip. The cost per student is $350, used to cover the charter bus, hotel rooms, food, and tickets. I am asking for donations to cover all students whose families can not cover the $350 and those who have to strain to make ends meet because they are paying for the trip. KIPP Charter schools are free to all families but we can not make our trips free.
Back Up Plan
If we don't meet this goal students that can not afford the trip will not be able to attend.
