Revving Up for Grease at Thomas High

The Description
This year, Thomas High Mastery Charter School is staging our second ever musical on March 8th and 9th, 2024. With generous support from donors on this platform, we were able to pull off a full-length production of Little Shop of Horrors in the spring of 2023.
In 2024, we’re going even bigger, and Grease is the word.
We hope to double our cast size, from 10 to 20, and we already have over 25 stage crew kids interested in helping with the production aspects of the show. With those extra participants come extra costs– we’ll need more makeup, more fabric for costumes, more sneakers, and more paintbrushes for willing painters. And we'll need that famous car, of course!
We are so excited to be making the musical a tradition at our school. With each dollar donated, you help to ensure the production’s success and our programs continued existence.
Thank you for your support of our program and for your support of the arts.
Back Up Plan
If we do not reach our goal, we will prioritize the most essential props, costumes, and set pieces. We'll also look for ways to cut corners through making more with found materials.

We did it!
Grease opened on Friday, March 8th. The crowd loved it! The spotlight we rented and the microphones we used elevated the performance. The students were shining in their "Beauty School Drop Out" costumes and leather jackets added a touch of wow! If the students had hung around a little longer on their bow, they might just have received a standing ovation.
Because of your generous contributions, 400 community members got to come see the show, to support their children, friends, and family. Twenty cast members and six crew members got to run the show. Their feelings of pride and joy, confidence and happiness-- I wish I could convey that to you here.
Thank you so much for supporting our program. Since you donated, your name appeared in our program's list of donors.
Today as we celebrate at the cast party, there may be laughter and jokes, and I'm sure there will be some tears. Thanks for helping to make some kids dreams come true, for helping make the arts a part of these kids' lives.
Three Weeks Away
February 18, 2024
If you can believe it, we're just three weeks away from show time.
We've been building, painting, sewing, crafting, and rehearsing non-stop since January 3rd.
With your generous donations, we've created a colorful set. We've purchased fabric to make "Beauty School Drop Out" costumes. We've thoughtfully thrifted so many short sleeve button-up shirts.
In these last few weeks, we'll be using donations to purchase wigs, because what would the show be without some classic dos? And, the mic rentals will arrive just in time for us to run our tech rehearsal.
Thank you SO MUCH for your support of our arts program.
