With these funds I will create intervention lesson for my students. My students have several disadvantages but they work hard to overcome their shortcomings. The majority of my students are English Language Learners, and struggle when comprehending what they read. As a result, my students fear they will fail the state test we call STAAR. I teach three English classes and three reading and writing classes. I would like to purchase 20 Measuring Up books to help frame my lessons so that I am meeting the needs of all my students academically. My students deserve to feel confident about the STAAR exam, and the Measuring Up books will allow me to reach all my students regardless of their different learning styles. Measuring Up has Reading and Writing STAAR intervention books. The cost is $12.95 per student book and $20.95 per teacher book. I would like to purchase 10 7th grade reading books along with 1 teacher book and 10 student Writing books along with one teacher book.
